About interesting things. Material things are not perfect

TV

Modern TV.

After a complex selection of manufacturers, models, and capabilities of televisions, it is necessary to make a decision, and as a rule, the decision is made and now the television is already hanging on a bracket on the wall.

Until the television cable from the cable television operator or satellite dish reaches the TV, the struggle for “picture quality” continues by moving the indoor antenna around the apartment. Additionally, with an indoor antenna, almost all functions of the TV are used, including a media player and Internet podcasts.

Mediaplayer.

Works great with external USB HDD (NTFS file system). Video (.mkv), sound (.mp3), photo (.jpeg) formats work without any problems. Thanks to the fact that the TV understands the NTFS file system, it is possible to view huge (.mkv) high-resolution video files of 1920*1080 with Dolby Digital sound. It is possible to view photos and listen (.mp3) at the same time. For sound, in addition to HDMI outputs, there is optical Spdif for Dolby Digital 5.1 format. DTS TV does not support or rebroadcast.

Disadvantages. If you have a movie (.mkv) with only DTS sound, to watch it on TV with a media player you need to convert the DTS sound to AC3. For this, as a rule, the following programs are used: “MKV Toolnix x.xx.xx”, “MKVextractGUI” (sound extraction and “gluing” of sound and video) and “eac3to” (converting DTS audio to AC3). A simple procedure, but it requires skills and a PC. There is no playlist for (.mp3).

Podcasts.

Internet podcasts include the ability to work with social networks. Disadvantages. When you open the podcasts section and there is online Internet access, first of all the TV will update the firmware (if it finds an update), only then the podcast category will open. As soon as a cable or satellite tuner is connected to the TV, it forever turns into a monitor with HDMI or SCART inputs for the tuner.

Record.

After carefully reading the TV menu, we can conclude that the TV is ready to record DVB-T TV programs to an external USB-HDD. In the TV guide, you can select a TV program and set a “recording” for a certain time. As a result, no recording occurs. According to the TV manual, the “record” command only activates a specific “HDMI output” for recording to an external device.
